Ian W. Hendry , FCPA, FCA, CFP
“I work with an amazing team of hard-working accomplished individuals who are a pleasure to work with and who share the core value of striving to be the best advisor they can to every client in every interaction. I have particularly enjoyed seeing former co-op students become my partners.”
Ian has been in public accounting for all his working life and he enjoys the variety that comes from presenting planning opportunities to clients to make them more successful and solving problems for them when they encounter difficulties.
A key factor in advising clients well is the ability to balance the text book solution with knowledge of the client and their families in such a way that their specific circumstances, their decision-making methods and their tolerance of risk are carefully considered. This approach allows Ian to work with each client to design a custom solution that ideally fits their needs.
Ian founded Hendry Warren LLP with Dan Warren in September 2002. He is a graduate of the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University at Kingston and obtained his CA designation in 1979. Ian obtained his CFP designation in 1997 and his TEP designation in 2003.
Ian is very active in the Ottawa community, serving on the board and as board chair of the CHEO Foundation and Roger Neilson House as well as being a member of the Kiwanis Club. Previously, he was a sessional lecturer at Algonquin College and the University of Ottawa for ten years, lecturing in accounting and taxation.
In December of 2018 Ian was made a Fellow of The Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario in recognition of his service to the profession.
