CEWS claim period extended

On Friday, Prime Minister Trudeau announced that the CEWS would be extended three months to August 29, 2020.  Further, the government is going to review the eligibility requirements, including the 30% revenue decline eligibility requirement, to assess if they are too restrictive.  While details were not provided, the comment was made that they did not want the threshold to be too high as to prevent some businesses from getting the assistance.   Minister Morneau provided further details in his briefing including stating that regulations are being amended to allow eligibility for some entities previously excluded, retroactive to March 15.
